Julia May married Charles Willard Adams in Hickory Indian Territory on October 6, 1901. They came to Wilbarger County in 1930. They were the parents of nine children: Grace, Lewis, Charles, Howard, Cleo, Alice, Viola, Ruth, and Gladys.
Julia May enjoyed writing and singing music. She wrote several songs which were purchased and recorded by Buck Owens. Many of Julia May's descendants enjoy the same musical inclinations.
A reunion for descendants of Charley and Julia May is held annually at Orbison Park in Vernon. It is held in May on memorial day weekend, usually that sunday.
