"Rites are Held for Aged San Augustine Co. Woman
San Augustine, Jan. 2, 1935, Funeral services were held today for Mrs. C. R. Goodwin, 88, who died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. W. Pate, in San Augustine County. She has been ill for about four weeks with bronchial pneumoonia.
Mrs. Goodwin was a member of a pioneer family, having moved here from Louisiana 66 years ago. She was married to Mr. Goodwin 68 years ago. She is survived by 10 children: W. W. Goodwin of Grow, J. F. on the old Goodwin homestead in San Augustine; E. B. of Roaring Springs, J. A. of Lubbock, Mrs. G. W. Pate, Mrs. R. E. Hook, San Augustine; H. H. of Afton, Mrs. Evilee Perry, San Augustine; D. M. of Huntington. She also had 64 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren and six great-great grand-children.
Burial was in the Attoyac cemetery with Rev. George King, pastor of the Attoyac church, officiating.
Mrs. Goodwin was the grandmother of Mrs. I. L. Perry of this city."
