Mary Dora was born in Pepin, WI on August 24, 1863 to Joseph Frank Richter and Mary Gertrude Richter. She grew up in WI and when she was 14 her moved to KS. She married Antone Schimmels on February 24, 1881 in Marysville, KS. They had 5 children, John, Dora, Antone, Charles and Francis. Mary Dora died on January 19,1943 and is buried with her husband and two children, John and Dora who died within two days of one another.
