Addison M. Burt, former Syracusan, passed away in New York

Addison M. Burt, who had a number of relatives in Syracuse, died at his home in New York yesterday, aged 92 years. Mr. Burt was born near Fayetteville and removed in New York many years ago, where he practiced law for fifteen years. Subsequently he engaged in important business enterprises. He was the son of Aaron Burt, who was conspicuous in the social and business life of Syracuse. Aaron Burt had five sons, Addison, Otis, Oliver, Arthur and Aaron Burt. Before any of the sons had reached manhood the father built the famous Burt homestead in East Genesee street, opposite the Onondaga County Orphan asylum, which was for a half century one of the residence landmarks of Syracuse. The Burt home continued to be for many years the home of Oliver T. Burt, whose widow is now living in James street. Her daughter is Mrs. Thomas T. Brewster, formerly of this city, but now of St. Louis, and her granddaughter is Mrs. Harry C. Pierce.
