Eula M. McQuaig, 81, of 209 Summers St., Hinton, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, Oct. 26, 2008, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Born April 27, 1927, in Eastman, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Tempe Marie Thompson Johnson.

Ms. McQuaig was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She was a community volunteer, involved in various civic organizations. Her efforts including working at Loaves and Fishes in Hinton, the Summers County Council on Aging and the Summers County Public Library. Ms. McQuaig had been a resident of Hinton for the past 15 years, coming from Jacksonville, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Amaloy H. McQuaig; second husband, James Milner. Also preceded by a granddaughter, Destiny Dawn McQuaig; five brothers and one sister. She was the last surviving sibling of seven children.

She is survived by two sons, Steve McQuaig and companion, Donna Lacey, of Ocala, Fla., and Windle McQuaig and wife, Toni, of Hinton; two grandchildren, Mareelyn McQuaig of Hinton and Whisper of Florida; one great-grandchild, Autumn of Florida; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service held on Thursday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Father Arthur Bufogle officiating. Burial followed in Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz.

Friends may call 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Loaves and Fishes in Hinton or the American Cancer Society.
