Age 73, died Friday in Green Bay following a lingering illness. He was born September 2, 1902 in the Town of Woodville, son of the late John and Mary Folk Vollmer. He married Helen Bernklau, January 5, 1927 in Milwaukee. He was a mechanic at Gustmann Motors until his retirement in 1961. He operated the Hilbert Sportsman's Shop from 1961 until 1972. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert. Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Ronald K. Rankin, Neenah; and Mrs. Generose Schwartz, Green Bay; four sons; Joseph and Jud, both of Menasha; Jon, Kaukauna; and James, Green Bay; a sister, Mrs. Marie Schroeder, Valders; two brothers; Walter, Hilbert; and Edgar, Chilton; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1968. The funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home from 4 p.m. Sunday until the hour of the service Monday. There will be a wake service 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
