MRS. FERGUSON TAKEN BY DEATH

Daughter of County’s Pioneers Dies Here

Katie Olds Ferguson, 74, McMinnville, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kelton Peery, Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services were held from Macy’s funeral home this afternoon.

Mrs. Ferguson was born in Lafayette, Nov. 14, 1864, the daughter of James H. and Nancy Ann Olds, Oregon pioneers. She attended school in Lafayette and lived there until she married Claude C. Ferguson, Sept. 27, 1885. She lived in Newberg until the death of her husband in 1927 after which she moved to McMinnville where she lived until her death.

She was a member of the Newberg chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a past matron of the chapter. She later transferred her membership to Knowles chapter, No. 12. She also belonged to the Neighbors of Woodcraft lodge.

Surviving here are two daughters, Mrs. K.B. Peery, McMinnville, and Mrs. J.A. Fraser, Winnipeg, Can.

Interment was in Evergreen cemetery.
