Born in Elizabeth, to the late Thomas & Sophie (Pries) Shuster, she was raised there and has lived in Point Pleasant for forty-three years.
Prior to moving to Point Pleasant, she had worked for Merck & Co., Rahway. She was an active member of the Point Pleasant Garden Club, the Point Pleasant Historical Society, and the Secular Franciscan Order of Saint Peter Parish, Point Pleasant Beach.
A devoted communicant, since 1968, of Sacred Heart Church, Bay Head, she was also a member of the parish Altar Rosary Society.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence J. Curran; her brother, Joseph Shuster; and by her sister, Marion Shuster.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas Curran and his wife Jennifer of Middletown and Vince Curran of Point Pleasant; two daughters, Mary Maier and her husband John of Jupiter, FL and Cathy Nelson and her husband Howard of Lakewood; seven grandchildren, Elisabeth, Sarah, & Lauren Maier, Liam & Emily Curran, and Sophie & Charley Nelson; and two nephews, David & Robert Shuster.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 25 at the Pable Evertz Funeral Home of Point Pleasant, 901 Beaver Dam Road. At 10 a.m., Thursday, May 26, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church followed by entombment at Saint Catharine Cemetery, Sea Girt.
