James came to Texas in 1889 from Catawba, North Carolina, He was 17 years old.

James A. Lowrance married Ida May Jordan 1880-1914 on Oct 6, 1901 in Waxahachie, TX. Ida May died in child birth to twins Mauline and Pauline.

James was married to Delia Belle Lowrance after 1920 and they had two children. His death certificate states, he was buried in the Park Cemetery in Ferris, Texas.

James and Delia are buried in unmarked graves.
