In his youth, Gary was an active member of the LDS Church. He graduated with honors from Weber High. In 1979 Gary joined the US Navy and was released from active duty, after taking ill, under a medical discharge.
Gary loved family gatherings, reunions, camping, shoes, building models and enjoyed the many collections he maintained in his room.
Gary is survived by his parents; brothers, Bruce Craig, twin brother, Jerry Allen (Kay Roney), Adam Clay (Julie Harmon); nieces and nephews, Jason, JoAnn, Brandy, Mary and Kai; many great-nieces and nephews and many loving aunts and uncles.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother Darwin Boyd Ellis.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2011 at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park. Friends may call on Sunday, July 31st at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., from 6 to 7 p.m.
