Martha C. Pitts, 77, of Niles, passed away at 7:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011 at Shepherd of the Valley in Niles.
Ms. Pitts was born on December 16, 1933 at home in Niles the daughter of the late William and Minta (Hutchison) Mullen and was a 1953 graduate of Niles McKinley High School.
Ms. Pitts retired after twenty five years of service with the City of Niles in the Maintenance Department. She was an avid cook and baker. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed being a homemaker. Ms. Pitts especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and shopping with her sisters.
Ms. Pitts will be sadly missed by her four children Marilyn Pitts of Georgetown, DE, Robert (Tammy) Pitts of Niles, Nancy (Jack) Marstellar of Warren and Richard (Renee) Pitts of Niles; two sisters Marion Augusta of Niles and Renee (Al) Salerno of Florida; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
Besides her parents, Ms. Pitts was preceded in death by a son James "Jim" Pitts; an infant brother Russell Mullen; a brother Paul Mullen; three sisters Jane Bartlett, Annette Lawrence and Virginia Darrell; and her loving companion of 26 years Sam Mymo.
