Clyde Allen Yates Sr. of Cordova, a farmer, died of a heart attack about 4 yesterday afternoon at his home. He was 72. Mr. Yates had lived in Cordova all his life. He was a member of the Cordova Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Chloe Rutledge Yates; four sons, Franklin Yates of Shelbyville, Tenn., Clyde Allen Yates Jr. of Nashville, Henry M. Yates of Cordova, and Paul Yates of Arlington; two daughters, Miss Mable Yates of Jackson, Tenn., and Miss Chloe Ann Yates of Bolivar, Tenn.; two brothers, S.E. Yates of Memphis and Thomas E. Yates of Shelby, Miss.; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Strong and Mrs. Annie Ellis of Cordova, and four grandchildren. National Funeral Home is in charge.
