HULL

Russell Raymond Hull was born February 21, 1912, to Clarence Thomas and Maude Means Hull and passed away at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 10 days on October 31, 1984 at the Lucas County Hospital following a long illness.

He attended schools in Monroe County and at Russell, Iowa. He married Karna Peterson at Goodell, Iowa on August 26, 1936. She preceded him in death in 1938. He married LaVeta Deney at Princeton, Mo. on October 25, 1941.

He spent most of his adult life farming in Lucas County and was an independent truck driver until his ill health led to his retirement several years ago. At that time, he moved to Chariton, where he resided until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Wilburn.

He is survived by his wife, LaVeta of Chariton, two daughters, Veleta Pugh of Chariton and Gay Birkenholz of Knoxville; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include three brothers, Sylvan of Russell, Delbert of Chariton, Dale of Corydon and two sisters, Lois Bowlin of New Virginia and Avene Nolte of Adams, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 P.m. at the Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Pickell officiating. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery. Bearers were Ed Hull, Dean Hull, Jim Bowlin, Tom Bowlin, Gary Bowlin and David Bowlin.
