death at Indianapolis of William
R. Bailey, 70, years of age, death
being due to kidney and bladder
complications, he having bean ill
for several weeks. Following the
receipt of the news an ambulance
went to Indianapolis to return
the body to the old home at
Windfall, where funeral services
and burial will take place and
where the mother, Mrs. Sardis
Francis still resides, she being
90 years of age.
William R. Bailey was born
and reared in Windfall residing
there for many years and being
engaged in several business enterprises
in that town. Mr. Bailey
started the first canning factory
in Windfall and was also for a
number of years engaged in the lumber business in that town. His parents were John and Sardis (Martin) Bailey were were early settlers in the windfall community. The father died in 1901 at Windfall and his mother in 1922, was united in marriage to Thomas Francis, whose death occurred a number of years ago. William was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Latus, daughter of Valentine Latus, one of the early Justices of the Peace in Jefferson township, who resided at Tetersburg for many years. to this union one son, Harold was born, he being married and residing in Indianapolis.
