Graveside services for Della Mae (Willis) McGee Brawley, 98, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m., March 21, 2006, at Malakoff Cemetery.
Ms. Brawley passed from this life on Sunday March, 19, 2006, at the home of her son, Edward W. McGee of Athens. The funeral is under the direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. John Watson and Bro. Buddy Hazel officiating.
Ms. Brawley was born June 26, 1907, to Llewellen Bruce Willis and Maggie Lena Wood in LaRue, Texas. She attended Walnut Creek School. She was a Waitress in Dallas for many years, owner and operator of several cafes in Dallas. She also worked in at Stirman Drugstore in Athens and Garland Pharmacy in Garland for several years.
Ms. Brawley was preceded in death by her parents, oldest son Melford Leon McGee, husbands Benjamin Franklin McGee and Lloyd Buell Brawley, brothers Fenton Willis, Roland Willis, Cecil Willis, Ben Willis and J. Paul Willis.
Survived by son, Edward Willis McGee; daughter-in-law, Bettye Jeane McGee; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Willis, Ila Mae McGee and Faye McGee, eight grandchildren, Edward Leon McGee, Janice Lynn Alderman, Larry Gene McGee, Jo Ann McGee, David Wayne McGee, Debra Joy Mize, Troy Darrel Abbott, Robert Lee McGee; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
