Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church for the Rev. John A. Otto, 88, who died Monday at Assumption Nursing Home.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the St. Boniface Catholic Church Narthex.
Arrangements were made by Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
The Rev. John Otto Eisenzimmer was born in Balta, N.D., to Rochus and Agnes Eisenzimmer. He was ordained at St. John's Seminary, Collegeville, by Bishop Busch of St. Cloud in 1939. He received his doctorate degree in philosophy from St. Michael's, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
He taught philosophy at St. John's University, Collegeville; St. Ambrose University, Davenport, Iowa; St. Joseph University, Philadelphia; and Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles. Since his retirement, he has translated volumes in French and German to English. He had more than two dozen works published.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Ralph Blake of Mobile, Ala., Barbara Berns, Rose Alexander and Paul Eisenzimmer of Cold Spring, Doris Reitmeier of St. Cloud, Clare Scott of Los Angeles, Edward Eisenzimmer of Fresno, Calif., Jerome "Bud" Eisenzimmer of Edmonds, Wash, and Marcella Weber of Plymouth.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Mary Fein, Rochus Jr., Ray and Ike.
Memorials are preferred to St. Boniface Catholic School and Church.
