From the Oregonian, 1 Dec. 1948:

Rosary service for Pfc. Richard McHugh will be recited at 8 p. m. Friday in the chapel of McGinnis and Wilhelm mortuary, with graveside rites to be held at 10 a. m. Saturday in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pfc. McHugh was killed in action in Steyer, Austria, May 5, 1945. He was born in Portland March 1, 1926, was graduated from St. Agatha elementary school in 1941 and attended Central Catholic high school before entering service.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius McHugh, 1334 S. E. Bidwell street; one brother, Cornelius McHugh, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. Shelia De Giovanni and Miss Medora McHugh, and his grandmother, Mrs. Kate McHugh, all of Portland.
