Born in 1926, Richmond, VA to John Hartwell Connor and Georgie Helen Freeman Connor. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy following WWII, where he saw duty in the Pacific Theater on USS OTTAWA. Married to Selma Jane "Penny" Clem of Richmond and had four children, Dayna Lynn (Miller), Julie Diane (Brown), Michael Dan, and Georgie Leigh (June). In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by six grandchildren, Chris Miller, Nathan Miller, Katherine Brown, Daniel Brown, Connor June, and Dwayne Connor. He retired as Underground Foreman from Virginia Electric and Power Company (VEPCO) in 1980, having transferred from Richmond to Norfolk in 1967. The family resided in the Carolanne Farm area of Virginia Beach. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Norfolk. He enjoyed spending time at his mountain cabin in Tyro, VA, which he and his son built. He was also an avid horologist, repairing and restoring antique clocks. He died in 2000 after a battle with cancer.
