Another Pioneer Gone. - Mrs. Harriet Slavens, the venerable mother of George B. Millar, the well known farmer, who resides near Wakefield died Sunday morning at six o'clock, after a week's illness with heart trouble. The deceased was one of the early settlers of Pike county and was born in 1820, in this county. She is survived by George Millar, her only son, and two brothers and one sister, in the West, and a brother Capt. Peters who resides on the old homestead in Scioto township. The departed was twice married, her first husband being Mr. Millar, a pioneer settler in Pike county. She leaves behind a number of grand-children. For several years she made her homIe with her grandson, Abe. inscription is on the South side of the main tombstone.
