Marie Belt, 87, of Baytown, went to be with her Lord, on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, in a Houston hospital.
Marie was born February 23, 1921 to Ben and Maudie Campbell Kirkwood in Palestine. She was a devout Christian and a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. She enjoyed her dogs and loved gardening and spending time in church.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, John Quincy Belt, Sr.; parents, and a brother Carl Kirkwood. Marie's Mother and 2 other brothers, Marvin and R. W. Kirkwood were killed in the Slocum Tornado 1929.
