He was born with a club foot, however, it never stopped him. He enjoyed dancing with his wife at the German Dances. He loved life, and loved his family. He was known to help out anyone in need.

He lived in Hayward for 49 years and worked for Lloyd A. Wise Olds for 39 years until he retired. He loved traveling in his motorhomes for 30 years sightseeing and visiting different states. Albert loved Polka dancing. Loving husband of Bernice Eckhardt of 60 years. Cherished father of Rodger and Cathy Eckhardt. Caring grandfather of Christopher and Robert Eckhardt. One loving sister, Velma Hoffman; three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kenneth; two sisters and one brother. Albert was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, 1836 B Street, Hayward.
