MARGARET JULIET SMITH

Miss Margaret Smith, who with her mother, Mrs. Virginia Smith, had been residing at Pasadena, California for the past year, died in a Los Angeles hospital Wednesday of last week after an illness of several months. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Henry F. Martens, officiating and interment was at the Yuma Cemetery.

Margaret Juliet Smith was born August 21, 1917 and departed this life on September 1, 1937, aged 20 years and 9 days. She was born at the family home, 7 1/2 miles east of Yuma, and graduated from Yuma Union High School in 1935, after receiving her earlier education in the South Valley school. She was baptized in infancy and united with the local Methodist Church in 1928. In August of last year she went to California with her mother and entered Southern California Bible School.

She leaves her mother, a brother, Robert C. Smith, a sister, Catherine; Mr. and Mrs. James Smith, Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Smith and son of Haigler, Nebraska.
