Chisholm, Brian Ernest - 68, of Alton, Colchester Co. passed away on July 15th, 2011 in Truro after a lengthy illness. Born Feb 13th, 1943 in Truro, only child of the late Robert Chisholm, Sally Campbell Chisholm Bates and step-father Harold Bates. Brian was involved with the original "Lincolns" band (Roddie, Lane, Brian and Frank) during the 1960's. They toured throughout the Maritimes and became indelible to that era. He was a natural showman, singer, and bass player. He is remembered for singing excellent versions of "Keep-A-Knockin" and "Roll Over Beethovan". Brian graduated from St Mary's University with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education Degree. His years at St Mary's were indeed happy ones. His generosity, infectious smile and glint in his eye won him many friends. He was an avid follower of sports and especially enjoyed participating in boxing, running, biking, baseball, hockey and shared friendships with many athletes. Brian loved to stand on the side lines and cheer on others accomplishments. He was instrumental in organizing Florida trips with his friends. These trips will always be cherished. Brian was someone who put things into words that everyone knew but nobody would say out loud, who wasn't afraid to point out how ridiculous everything was. He always described things exactly the way he saw them. Brian was Brian no matter what! Brian is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Mary Louise Sharpe Chisholm. He truly enjoyed sharing with Mary their love of horses and academics. The farm he built brought him many years of joy and contentment. He especially loved his dog Bobby. He is also survived by his devoted cousins Darrell Campbell (Judy), Sharon MacKay (Ross) and Colleen Wamboldt (Jack). There will be no service at Brian's request. Private burial will take place. The family would like to send special thanks to the Colchester Regional Hospital, 4th Floor Nursing Staff, Staff at Cedar Stone Nursing Home (Garden Rd) and a special thanks to Dr. Khaled Shen whom Brian loved and appreciated. Donations may be made in Brian's name to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. On-line Condolences may be made by visiting www.colchestercommunity.com
