Dr. Walter A. Rafalko, Professor of Law and Associate Dean of University of Baltimore Law School, former Dean of New York Law School and Associate Dean of the Duquesne University School of Law, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, in Timonium. He was 91. He was a decorated World War II veteran, recipient of the Purple Heart and D-Day survivor. He was a native of Stoughton, Mass., graduate of St. Marys Parochial School, Stoughton High School, St. Louis University, Boston University School of Law, and recipient of additional advanced degrees, LL.M. from Georgetown University School of Law and New York University School of Law and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from John Marshall University School of Law. He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine, with whom he would have celebrated his 66th wedding anniversary Aug. 4, 2011; and nine of his 10 children; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish Church, Cockeysville. A viewing will be available Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Towson. Contributions may be made in his memory to the University of Baltimore Educational Foundation, Walter A. Rafalko Family Fund, Baltimore, MD.
