Alyce Margaret Couture, 68, of Lenox Pl. formerly of Woodland, died Friday Dec. 12, 2003 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Alyce was born Nov. 8, 1935 in Duluth to Warner and Ruth (Maki) Holten. She married Lionel F. Couture on Sept. 29, 1956. She worked as a clerk and cashier at the SoapBox Laundromat in Woodland for many years. Alyce was a member of St. John's Church and loved to tend her flower garden, play Mahjong and put puzzles together. She was extremely strong willed, neat and organized and a good cook. Alyce was preceded in death by her husband Lionel F. Couture in 1983; her daughter, Roberta Lee; and two sisters, Florence Johnson and Bernice Gerard. Alyce is survived by her daughters, Linda (Douglas) M. Peters of Minneapolis, Carol (John) Ethier of Duluth and Patty (Jim) Brush of Minneapolis, Minn.; her brother, Carl Holten of Duluth; grandchildren, Christina, Scott, Bob, Eric, Ashley, Steven, Nicole, Mary and Michael. VISITATION:3-6pm Sunday with 5pm Wake Prayers in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Monday at St. John's Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
