Clyde C. Ward Jan. 28, 1948-Aug. 2, 2011
Clyde C. Ward, 63, formerly of Monroe, passed away Tues., August 2, 2011, at his home in Wolverine, MI.
Clyde was born January 28, 1948 in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was the son of Clell and Amy Jane (Fields) Ward.
Clyde moved with his family to Taylor, Michigan, where he graduated from Kennedy High School in 1966.
He joined the U.S. Navy where he served during the Vietnam War.
On November 28, 1980, he married Patricia Barnett in Trenton, MI. The couple made their home in Taylor, later moving to Monroe.
Clyde earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Wayne State University. He was employed at the Chrysler Motor Co.'s Trenton Engine Plant. He retired in September 2002 with 32 years of service.
In 2009, the Ward family moved to Wolverine, where they have been since.
Clyde enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, reading and watching movies. He adored his grandchildren and loved being a family man.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Patricia; children DeWayne Ward of Ecorse, MI, Squire (Angel) Lowe of Wyandotte, MI, Patricia (David) Hamsher of Wolverine, MI, David Ward of Canton, MI, Kathy (Marvin) Barton of Ypsilanti, MI; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; siblings, Carol Ward of Taylor, MI and William Ward of Taylor, MI.
Besides his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Annette Ward, in 1985.
Visitation will be held at Lintz Funeral Home in Indian River on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at Lintz Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2011.
