Ms. Ruth Carr Williams, 97, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Ridgewood Terrace.
She was born June 22, 1914, in Sturgis, KY to the late William S. and Ruby Carr Williams.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was the church pianist. In 1979 she retired from choral directing at Madisonville North Hopkins High School. She also volunteered at Regional Medical Center for a number of years.
She is survived by caregivers Larry and Diann Wilson of Madisonville; and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Leonard and Rev. Jim McMurtrie officiating. Burial to follow is Odd Fellows Cemetery, Madisonville.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to Georgetown College. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
