He was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Springfield, the son of Carl W. and Mabel Walter Raps. He married Mable "Sue" Hinds in 1948 in Springfield.
Mr. Raps was a farmer for 35 years and drove the school bus in Pleasant Plains for 18 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Springfield Ski and Boat Club.
Survivors: wife, Mable J. "Sue"; a son, Rodney Dean (wife, Becky) Raps of Pleasant Plains; a daughter, Robin Sue (husband, Kevin) Krone of Pleasant Plains; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; father, Carl W. Raps of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 1 p.m. Friday, Boardman-Smith Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Don Pritchard officiating. Burial: Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
