Catherine Elizabeth Cooper "Cat'
Elliott age 84, passed away on Sunday the 18th of October, 2009. She was born in Dodd City, Texas in Fannin County on the 15th of November, 1924 to Virgil and Florence Cooper. She attended Windom Public Schools. Catherine married Glenn Elliott in 1943 and moved in 1949 to Longview, Texas where she resided the remainder of her life.
Catherine worked for Kennedy's Jewelers, Dr. Bud Colquitt, and retired after fifteen years from the Adult Probation Department at the Gregg County Courthouse.
After moving to Longview, Catherine placed her membership at the Second and Whaley Church of Christ then moved when the congregation became the Alpine and Glover Church of Christ and currently the Alpine Church of Christ.
Catherine enjoyed pets of all kinds, especially her Shelties and her last cat, Samson.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn Elliott; daughter Diane Henson and husband, Ron; son Dennis Elliott and wife, Carla; grandchildren, Paige Henson Cawyer, Jennifer Henson Hobbs, Keri Elliott Smale, and Sara Elliott; six great grandchildren; her much beloved sister Ruth Dykes and husband Roy of Odessa; nieces and nephews, Mike and Betty Chaney, Sue Battles, Gwynn and Ron Shultz, Wilson and Connie Howell, Cindy and Ross Coleman, Bob and Janet Dykes, Sheri and Bruce Myers, and Todd and Lori Turner.
Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, October 22nd at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview officiated by her son, Pastor Dennis Elliott. Graveside services will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
