John was the son of Carl and Amelia (Klemp) Brummond. He served with the Army overseas in World War l and saw action in the Muese-Argonne battle. Married on August 29, 1925 to Edna Schachtschneider and was employed many years in the assembly and maintainance departments of the local Chevrolet plant prior to retiring in 1961. John was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Janesville and the VFW. Surviving was his wife, a daughter; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charles and Fred and a sister , Mrs. Fred Olson.
