OLD FORT HIGH GRAD KILLED

Sgt. William Luman, 27, flight engineer on a B-29 Superfortress, was killed in action in a flight over Japan May 3rd, according to word from the War Department received by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Amos Luman of Tiffin.
Sgt. Luman had been in the service since August 1942. He had been overseas a little over a month and had completed 3 missions when he wrote his last letter home. The soldier was born near Tiffin, March 5, 1918, and was graduated from Old Fort High School in 1936.
The parents and eight brothers and sisters survive.
