Mrs. Lucy Abernathy, 75, of Greenville died Saturday morning at Citizens General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Sorrells and Sons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. today with Rev. Joe Newby officiating.

Burial will be in Tidwell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Grimes, Joe P. Grimes, George Mitchell, D. C. Powell and Archie Dean.

Mrs. Abernathy was born in Sulphur Springs on Nov. 21, 1895. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Barker. Mrs. Abernathy was a member of the Wesley Street Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include her husband;(sic) Eugene Abernathy of Greenville; a daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Grimes of Huntsville, Ala.; a step-daughter, Mrs. J. W. Green of Waco; five brothers, W. T. Barker, J. C. Barker, F. C. Barker, A. H. Barker and B. T. Barker, all of Ft. Worth; two sisters, Blanch Barker of Ft. Worth and Ovie Black of Cleveland; and one grandchild.

Double services for Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Abernathy, 85 and 77, respectively, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Sorrells and Sons Funeral Home hapel (sic), with the Rev. Joe Newby officiating. Burial will be in Tidwell Cemetery.

Mr. Abernathy died at 6 a.m. Sunday in Citizens General Hospital after an illness of two weeks.

He was born July 7, 1986, in Big Fork, Ark. He and his wife, the former Lucy Baker (sic), were married in 1943.

Mr. Abernathy was a desk clerk at the Cadillac Hotel and a member of the Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lucy Abernathy died Saturday morning at Citizens General.
