Melvin C. Aspegren -

Melvin C. Aspegren, 88, of Harvard died Sunday, Jan. 9, 1994 at Harvard Rest Haven.

Services are 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kohler Mortuary chapel in Sutton with the Rev. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Saronville Methodist Cemetery at Saronville.

Mr. Aspegren was born Sept. 21, 1905, to Edmund and Hilma (Peterson) Aspegren near Saronville where he attended school. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith.

On Feb. 2, 1927, he married Leona Barker at her parents' home in Saronville. He farmed in the Saronville area. He later worked as a mail carrier and was a former employee of the Saronville grain elevator. The couple moved to the Nolde Community Center in Sutton in the mid-1980's. He moved to Harvard Rest Haven in September 1989.

Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Joan Cleven of Lincoln; four sons, Burnell of Harvard, Arnold of Hastings, Percy of Geneva and Herbert of Sutton; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Harvard Rest Haven.
