Charlie joined the U.S. Navy on Oct. 6, 1965, and at the time of his death he belonged to secret squadron VO-67. Their mission was to sprinkle the jungle with sensitive sensors that would detect enemy movement and transmissions.
Charlie was born on Oct. 23, 1941, in Port Clinton to Wilson and Edith (Mills) Buck. He was a 1961 graduate of Sandusky High School and a 1965 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea. He was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Danbury.
Survivors include brother Gary (Janice) Buck of Sandusky. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: Military graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Cemetery.
