Barbara L. (Green) Holland, 90, a resident of Easton for the past 60 years, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late James E. Holland Sr. Born in Stoughton, a daughter of the late Louis J. and Helen (Kowalewski) Green, she was raised in Stoughton and was a 1945 graduate of Stoughton High School. She continued her education at St. Margarets Nursing School in Boston. Barbara was employed as a registered nurse for Brockton Hospital and the former Goddard Hospital in Stoughton. A founding member and communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton, Barbara enjoyed reading, gardening and puzzles. She was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. Barbara is survived by her son, James E. Holland Jr. and his wife Carole of of Hinsdale; a brother, retired Colonel Albert Green of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren, Nicole Cowlin of Pittsfield and Andrew Holland of Hinsdale; and three great-grandchildren, Haley, Lauren and Brooke Cowlin all of Pittsfield. She was also the sister of the late Henry Green and Louis J. Green. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton, on Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in South Easton Cemetery, Easton. Visiting hours on Friday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbaras memory may be sent to the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton.
