He was a native of Limestone County, AL. He was a retired brick mason, worked also for the Civil Service and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is a Christian by faith.
He is survived by his wife , the former Martha Jo Diuguid; his three children, Wayne Usery(Pat) of Alabama, Karen Daniels(Lowell) and Ronald L Usery both of Louisville, Ky; four step children, Harold Wade(Janice), Angela Nash, Robert Campbell all of Louisville, and Paula Berry(Harold) of Cox Creek, Ky; one sister, Bertha Wright of Alabama; three grand-daughters from Alabama; two grandchildren in Louisville; four step-grandchildren in Louisville; five great-grandchildren of Alabama; four great-grandchildren of Louisville; three step-great grandchildren of Louisville; one great-great-grandson of Alabama; and one great-great-grandson of Louisville. His funeral will be noon Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: noon-9 p.m. Wednesday.
