Henry Dominic ``Hank'' Sheloski, 83, died Monday, (January 19, 2004) after a brief illness at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, VT.

Mr. Sheloski was born on August 4, 1920 in West Rutland, VT, the son of the late Konstanty O. and Michilienia (Servoski) Sheloski. Henry was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army serving throughout the European Theatre and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor for service to his country. Henry married his wife, Mrs. Eleanor (Cottrell) Sheloski, August 3, 1963 in Bristol, CT.

He was employed for many years as a toolmaker for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engine Plant in Connecticut, from which he retired. Together with his wife, they relocated back to Vermont where they have made their home for several years.

Henry was a member of the Crippen Fellows Post 50, American Legion of Castleton. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mrs. Eleanor Sheloski of Hydeville, VT; his niece Sally Head of Burlington, Connecticut, three nephews, Theodore Sheloski Jr. of Ira, Vt, Stanley Sheloski of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Thomas Cottrell of Harwich, Mass. Also, by two great-nieces and four great-nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Theodore Sheloski Sr., Joseph Sheloski, Edward Sheloski and Stanley Sheloski.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, January 23, 2004, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Durfee Funeral Home in Fair Haven.

A prayer service will be conducted by the Rev. Hugh Tudor-Foley of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Rutland at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date in Plainville, Connecticut.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to the Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, P.O. 787, Rutland, Vt., 05702 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105-1905.
