DECATUR - Michael Patrick McNamara, 71, of Decatur passed away at 12:35 a.m. Friday, August 05, 2011 at Lincoln Manor Nursing Home with his family by his side. Mike was born June 11, 1940, in Decatur, the son of J.D. and Mary (Creamer) McNamara. He received his bachelor's degree from Millikin University where he was a standout baseball player. He was an insurance agent with Prudential for twenty-five years where he was a top producer. He also owned and operated McNamara & Murray Insurance Agency. He married Martha Huhne June 9, 1962 in Decatur. Mike leaves behind Martha, his beloved wife of over forty-nine years, son, Mike of Decatur, daughter, Susan Lawlor and husband Patrick of St. Louis, and grandchildren, Hailey McNamara of Chatham, and PJ, Joseph, Matthew, and Beth Lawlor of St. Louis. Mike was reunited in Heaven with his parents, brother, Jerry, grandson, Jake McNamara, and many relatives and friends.
