Paul Collins moved his family to Warren Co., Mississippi just after statehood in 1819-1820. Sons Joseph Duncan and Robert R. received land patents in Hinds Co. on acreage that would later become a Battlefield during the Civil War.
Robert R. moved his family from Champion Hill/Edwards, Hinds County, MS to Jasper County, MS just after the 1833 Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek with a 1835 land patent when Jasper became a Mississippi county thus becoming a pioneer family of both Hinds and Jasper Counties.
In poor health R.R. and Mary Ann moved to Pearl River County around 1870-72 to live with their son, Henry Clay, a Civil War doctor.
