Stark, Edith Catherine, age 86, of Elkhorn, formerly of Waterford, passed away on January 3, 2016. Edith was born September 24, 1929 to Bernard and Catherine (nee. Schmedecker) Stark. Edith spent most of her life in Waterford but also lived in Milwaukee, Kenosha and Elkhorn. After graduating college she became a 5th grade teacher, a job she truly loved. Edith was a lifelong member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, a member of the Franciscans and the Woman’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling near and far, genealogy, crafting and baking. She was always there for anyone in their time of need. She loved to watch the Packers and Brewers.
Edith is survived by her twin sister: Ethel Matezevich; one brother: Bernard (Carol) Stark Jr.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister: Arlene (William) Koetterhagen; brother: Herbert (Sally) Stark; brother-in-law: Frank Matezevich and sister-in-law: Dottie Buska.
Visitation will be held on January 7, 2016 from 10-11 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St. Waterford, with Mass of Christian Burial starting at 11 AM. Burial will take place following the service at St. Thomas Cemetery. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy Edith’s family suggest memorials to the School Sisters of St. Francis, 1501 S. Layton Blvd. Milwaukee, WI 53215.
Family would like to extend a very heartfelt "thank you" to Aurora At Home Hospice for the tender loving care they gave Edith.
