Company K, 35th North Carolina Infantry, Ransom's Brigade, Johnson's Division, 4th Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.
Enlisted on 12/15/1864 at Burke County, NC., he was mustered into "K" Co. NC 35th Infantry as a Private.
POW 4/3/1865 Jackson hospital, Richmond, VA., while still hospitalized; died there of chronic diarrhea.
The 35th Infantry Regiment completed its organization in November, 1861, at Camp Mangum, near Raleigh, North Carolina. Its members were raised in the counties of Mecklenburg, Onslow, McDowell, Moore, Chatham, Person, Union, Henderson, Wayne, and Catawba. (Original basic submission by Laurie.)

Per family records; both brothers George & Alexander enlisted at Camp Stokes. The location of their enlistment was between Drexel & Morganton, NC.

Alex II was survived by his wife Peggy, and 9 children.
