Yancy Lee "Yank" Smotherman
WILLS POINT - Memorial services for Yancy Lee "Yank" Smotherman, 91, Wills Point, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church, Quinlan, with the Rev. Ray Bailey officiating under direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home, Wills Point.
Mr. Smotherman died Aug. 16, 2006, in Rowlett.
He was born March 21, 1915, in Ennis to Ellis and Minnie Smotherman. He lived in Garland 35 years and worked for Garland Independent School District. He moved to the Lake Tawakoni area in 1980. He was a member and deacon at Faith Baptist Church, Quinlan.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Naniruth Smotherman; daughters, Beth Delores Jordan and Linda Ruth Brown; and siblings.
Survivors include his granddaughter, Terri Burdick; grandsons, Kenneth Easthom, Jim Easthom, Lee Easthom, Rick Easthom, and Michael Easthom; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
