Funeral services for Cleta M. Hauser, age 67 of rural Elgin, formerly of L incoln will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 16 1996 at the Church of Christ in Neligh with Pastor John Legate officiating. Burial wi ll be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Neligh. Visitations will be held at the Marchall-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden on Thursday, February 15 1996 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Hauser died on Monday, February 12, 1996 at the Lutheran Community H ospital in Norfolk.
Cleta M. Hauser, the daughter of Morris and Frances (Kidd) Legate was bo rn in Ainsworth, on March 17, 1928. She attended Ainsworth School and gra duated from the Neligh High School. She was married to Leo Latzel in 19 45 at Neligh. In 1963, she was married to Raymond Hauser. She was a chef at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Cleta's Cafe, in Elgin , The Last Chance Cafe in Fairfield and at the Community College in Hastings.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Legate, Elgin; one son , Allen of Lincoln; four daughters, Bonnie Starman of Grand Island, Barbara Stramel of Hastings, Irene Kouma and Theresa Hauser, both of Lincoln; four step children, Barbara Strong, Marietta Ballard, Albert Hauser and Linda James all of Lincoln; three brothers, Bill Legate of Elgin, Sterling Legate of Clearwater and John Legate of Tilden; four sisters, Mrs Myron (Thelma) Sheets of Omaha, Mrs. Eldon ( Mardell) Johansen of Norfolk, Mrs. Dwayne (Patricia ) Ames of Ralston and Vivian Schell of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father , two sons, Steve and one in infancy, one step son, Delray Hauser, one brother, Norris Legate, and one sister, Eva McKenna.
