Larry Arno Krebs, 78, of Willow Springs, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at TruCare Living Center in Columbus, Texas.

Larry was born in Brenham, Texas, on January 18, 1932, the son of the late Bruno and Edmunda (Reichelt) Krebs.

He attended school at Shelby School, Willow Springs School, and Fayetteville High School. Larry married Nelcine Minssen on April 20, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg.

He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After returning from the army, he was a self-employed rancher and farmer who enjoyed working with cattle, making hay, and utilizing the land God provided. Larry was also very involved in the community, as a part of the Fayetteville School Board for eight years, Shelby Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion, Sons of Hermann, Trinity Lutheran Church Council, Lions Club and a Fayetteville school bus driver for 10+ years. And, Larry loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandson and hunting in Castell.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nelcine (Minssen) Krebs; sons: Stanley Krebs and wife, Lisa Kay, Jerry Krebs and wife, Judy, and Glendale Krebs and wife, Lisa Marie; brother, Nolan Krebs and wife, Genelle; four grandsons; four granddaughters; and one great grandson.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kernis Krebs, in 1993.
