Robert "Bob" Allen Cluff, 73 of Turtle River, Minnesota died Wednesday, December 22, 2004, in Northern Township, Minnesota.
He was born on May 18, 1931 at Tenstrike, Minnesota the son of Harry Edward and Mabel Beatrice (McFarland) Cluff. He grew up on a farm at Tenstrike. He entered the U.S. Army on December 13, 1948 at the age of 17 serving in Germany in the Transportation Corp. After his honorably discharged from military service on July 30, 1952, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Hibbing area.
He married Delrose Christianson on December 11, 1951. They made their home at Tenstrike until moving to the Los Angeles area where he worked in earth development for home sub-divisions and building freeways. He moved his family back to Minnesota in 1960, working in the Minneapolis area as a foreman constructing freeways. He owned and operated his own logging business from 1971 to 1985. In 1986, he took a position as hazardous waste supervisor for National Salvage working throughout the eastern states.
He is survived by his five sons, Daniel (Diana) Cluff of Tenstrike, Lee (Sharon) Cluff of Mt. Iron, Robert (Tauna) Cluff of Tenstrike, Dean Cluff of Blackduck, and Gerald (Leslie) Shofner of Bemidji; Daughter Linda (Ron) Gillman of Nebish; special friend, Mable Shofner of Bemidji; 14 grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; brother, Wally (Della) of Bemidji; siter, Delores Durbin of California and Verna (Don) Parker of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and an infant sister.
