UNTSVILLE, Ala. - John William "Smiling Jack" Wells passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Aug. 5, 2011, in Huntsville. Jack bravely fought a battle with FTD Picks Disease and was an inspiration to all who were blessed to have known him.
He was born Aug. 27, 1948, in Galesburg, Ill., and was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Wells and his father, Frank Wells. A granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Huber, also preceded him in death as well as one brother, Paul Wells. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Wells; three daughters, Angela (Larry) White of Bradenton, Fla., Jennifer Gaddis and Kim (Scott Manders) Braswell/Manders of Winder, Ga. Jack was brother to Jim (Linda) Wells of Rock Island, Ill., Mary Ann (Tom) Myler of Auburn, Ga., and Mike (Jackie) Wells of Winder, Ga. He had 10 grandchildren and seven nieces and nephews who all adored him.
He graduated from Costa High School in 1966 and completed four years in the IBEW electrical apprenticeship in Galesburg and was a master journeyman electrician. He was superintendent for Ace Electric in Atlanta. Jack was a member of Church at Winder in Bethlehem, Ga.
Jack devoted his heart and soul to God, his wife and family. He is in heaven now and will be in our hearts until we see him again. We love you, Jack.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Church at Winder, 546 Treadwell Road, Bethlehem, GA 30620. Memorials and donations may be made to the church's benevolent fund.

HUNTSVILLE, ALA. - Jack Wells 62, died Friday August 5, 2011, following a long courageous¨mbattle with Picks disease.

He was born in Galesburg, Ill., on August 27, 1947, the son of the late Frank and Edna Wells. Prior to his illness he was a superintendent with Aces Electric in Atlanta and was a member of The Church at Winder.

Jack was a great inspiration to all who knew him and all who knew him will miss him and his¨mgreat big smile.

Survivors include his wife, Pam Wells; daughters, Angie (Larry) White, Bradenton, Fla., Jennifer Gaddis and Kim Braswell Manders, both of Winder; eleven grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann (Tom) Myler, Auburn; two brothers, Jim (Linda) Wells, Galesburg, Ill., and Mike (Jackie) Wells.

A memorial was held at The Church at Winder in Winder, on Saturday, August 5.
