OSWEGO (AP)—The body of
Edward A. Maxon, fifty-six, city
fireman who was killed yesterday in the collapse of a burning
building, was recovered today."
Firemen and volunteers removed the body from-.the debris
at 9:40 A. M., after working all
of yesterday and last night to
locate it. |
Mr. Maxon.. who had been an
ambulance driver -for the Fire
Department for 30 years, was
caught when the upper three stories of a four-story brick building
collapsed.(Edward A. Maxon lost his life
•as a result of that fire. He is also
depicted in the mural(on the side of the Oswego Eastside fire dept.) driving the
old fire engine being pulled by
three horses.
Maxon's memory was also
carried on through his grandson,
who became a member of the
fire department)
