Brother Willie Jones Collins was born to Mr. George Collins and Mrs. Queen Esther White Collins in Worth County, Georgia. He was educated in the local school system and worked the family farm along with other jobs before landing a job with Firestone Tire And Rubber Company in East Albany, Georgia where he worked until health related retirement. Acknowledging the need for salvation, Bro. Collins was born-again and baptized into the Independent Holiness Deliverance Churches, Inc. in Albany, Georgia under the leadership of Chief Apostle Isaiah Revills and Shepherd Mother Ullainee Revills at the headquarters, The First Albany Deliverance Cathedral. He was a long time member for over 35 years. A simple word and a simple smile was his trademark. We are left to celebrate what the Lord has done in his life. Brother Willie Jones Collins met and married Elder Rebecca Daniels Collins on October 25 1968 and remained together 37 years until his passing in January and her passing in February of 2005. He was a first cousin of legendary singer Ray Charles who was born in Albany, Georgia to Aretha Williams and Bailey Robinson. Willie Collins and Ray Charles were born a year apart and passed away a year apart. He spoke of fond memories of the two of them when Ray Charles would visit the Collins family in Sylvester and the Worth County, Georgia area. Even when they let Ray Charles drive a car in an open area just so he could know what it felt like. Brother Collins liked to collect things that most would have no use for. He found value in all things and enjoyed a simple lifestyle. A Monday Night Evangelical Celebration was held on January 17, 2005 at The Cathedral, where loved ones, saints of God and friends from Georgia, Florida, New York, Virginia and other areas of the U.S.A and Japan came together to bid him farewell. Willie Jones Collins, Jr., Samuel Jones Collins along with his wife Yuuka Shimura Collins and their sons Taisei Justin Collins and Benjamin are the link in the chain along with other loved ones who will carry on the legacy of Brother Willie Jones Collins, Sr. That's what I'm talkin bout.
