Etta (Vanderbilt) Sappington was born December 21, 1853. She was the daughter of Henry and Sophia Minerva (Prince) Vanderbilt. Etta passed away July 20, 1925 at her home in Lynxville, WI.
She married James Sappington and to this union four children were born. Her husband, a son and a daughter preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Manford Sappington of Elkhart, Indiana and a daughter, Minnie (Ray) Copsey also of Elkhart, Indiana.
She is also survived by three sisters, Jane Dikeman, Lizzie Searles and Hattie Noggle and one half-brother, Joseph Huard. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
"She was a kind mother, a good neighbor and her taking away will be sadly felt in the community in which she had lived for the past forty-five years."
