Great Uncle Tom was the son of Mathias & Nan Ambrose born in Rock Gap district of Morgan County. He married Wavie Dawson Feb. 10 1915 and the had three children; Violet Fern, Violet & Talmadge. He lived 65 years in Akron, Ohio. He formerly operated a grocery & meat market and was a foreman in the tube room at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company for 33 years. He was a member of the South Akron Church of Christ; where he had been an elder for 46 years, taught bible school for 39 years, and was choir director for eight years. He was a member of Coventry Lodge No. 665 F.&A.M. and Yusef Khan Grotto.
